You'd think the Halo franchise was a busy enough place as it is. What with a giganto-mash-up of the first four games, a brand new game and a bridge-narrative TV show thing in the works, the far future is an industrious place. And yet there may be more. As VG24/7 spotted, a new Microsoft job advert seems to have revealed another new series entry.
Update: We've found second job advert for a senior concept artist, hired to "breathe a fresh vision into a new Halo experience". The role calls for art covering "environments, vehicles, props, weapons". Curiouser and curiouser.
In fact, it seems as though this could be a more substantial project than a simple spin-off - the job advert calls for a Senior Producer on a "new project line". The advert reads:
"343 Industries is looking for a Senior Producer to help develop a new project line in the Halo universe. This is your chance to work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry with one of the industry's most talented teams." Intriguingly, it also goes on to mention: "As a Publishing Senior Producer, you are core to aiding the productivity of your development partner".
Whether the latter part means that this will be another collaboration between 343 and an outside studio, as with Saber on Combat Evolved Anniversary, isn't totally clear - but given how much work the former has on at the moment, we wouldn't be totally surprised.
What the project could even be is a bigger mystery - Edwin did spot a billboard for Halo Wars in the the Phantom Dust remake's E3 teaser trailer, but it could just as easily be another non-interactive part of the series. Then again, Aoife misheard our conversation in the office and assumed we were talking about the announcement of a new Tube line, presumably represented on the maps in Master Chief green - that would be big news.
