Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag Freedom Cry DLC gets a release date

Adewale of a time

Fear not, landlubbers. If you've finished everything there is to do in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, there'll be brand new single player content available to download on 17th December.

On that date, Edward Kenway's first mate Adewale inherits the assassin's hood and sets off on a new mission to free slaves - looking devastatingly badass whilst doing so. Videogamer spotted an advert revealing the date in the latest digital issue of GameInformer. Freedom Cry is an entirely new Assassin's Creed mini campaign, and it's set a few years after the events of Assassin's Creed IV. Ubisoft claims it'll offer more than four hours of brand new content. The logos for both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One are visible in the advert, suggesting it will launch on both platforms simultaneously.

Although no individual price is listed for the DLC, it'll be free to all Assassin's Creed IV season pass holders. Have you finished AC4 yet? I must admit, I only just started it and spent my first half hour chasing turtles and crabs up and down a sandbar.
