Mirror's Edge 2 announced - an origin story for Xbox One

Faith returns on next gen consoles and PC

Dreams do come true. EA and DICE have revealed Mirror's Edge 2, stating that it'll release "when it's ready". I'm bouncing off the walls, really I am.

The trailer shows Faith having one of her distinctive arm tattoos applied, which suggests that the new game is in fact a prequel. It's been rumoured to exist for some time, popping up on various retailers and even EA's own help page earlier in the month.

"We introduced Mirror's Edge and Faith to gamers five years ago, and we've waited for the right moment to reunite them," producer Sara Jansson commented in a release.

"Thanks to the Frostbite engine and a new generation of platforms, we are now able to deliver a richer world that players will be able to explore with a new level of freedom in both movement and action."

Four new screens from the trailer have also been released - check them out below. The game's coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
