Lollipop Chainsaw guy's possible Xbox 720 game asks: "what the hell are you looking at?"

Suda51 touts unique online feature, release next year

Suda51 is making a new action game, don't you know - one that offers a "very new style of online feature", and could see release on next generation console platforms. Edge has the skinny.

"Of course it's an action game and it'll be on console platforms," the Grasshopper Manufacture boss told the mag. "We're considering various console platforms right now." The game's planned for release in 2014, after the rumoured arrival of the next generation Xbox. So will it appear on new or current gen hardware? "We're considering both. Naturally we are interested in developing games for the next-gen platforms. We are investigating the specs and all that right now."

"This is going to be an action game obviously but the gameplay style is going to differ very much - it'll be unique," Suda continued. "This is a title that GungHo Japan and Grasshopper Manufacture is working on together collaboratively so there will be an online feature, because that's their forte and what they specialise in.

"On the simplest level it will be social, but the word social is used and misinterpreted a lot these days. GungHo has over ten years of experience in providing online gaming services so that is their strength." Apparently there's no real precedent for the game's online features - intriguing. Also intriguing: the debut artwork, which boldly declares "what the hell are you looking at?"

More as we get it. Grasshopper is the oddest of oddball developers, as you'll hopefully deduce from the Killer Is Dead footage below, so the new project should be worth reading about.
