Gearbox Software is working on new Borderlands 2 DLC, bossman Randy Pitchford has confirmed via the august medium of Twitter. Strong possibilities include a new character and a level cap rise, but there's a catch - all this may fall outside what you're entitled to with the Borderlands 2 Season Pass.
"Almost certainly yes," Pitchford told one fan, when asked whether a sixth Borderlands 2 character would see release. "We're working on it."
"News as soon as we can," he promised another follower, in reference to the level cap rise. "Sorry I can't offer more yet - I get skewered when things change in development, whatever the reason."
Finally, there's this: "we're working on new DLC for these things in addition the campaign DLC offered in the season pass."
Gearbox is in hot water right now, thanks to reviewer disappointment over Aliens: Colonial Marines and accusations that the developer embezzled funds provided by publisher Sega. It must be something of a relief for Pitchford to be able to comment on the relatively uncontroversial, enthusiastically received Borderlands.
More as we get it.
