Minecraft Xbox 360 update 9 "won't be out this month"

The End isn't quite nigh

Minecraft Xbox 360's next update won't be with us in February, 4J Studios has announced. Alas, seems cramming a massive dragon into your game isn't something you do overnight.

"There's lots more work to be done before TU9 goes to [certification]," the developer tweeted yesterday. "It won't be out this month."

As we've written elsewhere, the game's next refresh adds a new realm, The End, and a spectacular new mob, the Enderdragon. You can read about how to explore the former without getting eaten by the latter in our Minecraft Xbox 360 update 9 survival guide. The download won't just be about going toe-to-toe with giant flying lizards, however - 4J has hinted that a number of new features are in store.

Disappointed? Don't worry - one of the advantages of Minecraft is that you can build your own boss monsters. This guy has the right idea.
