Assassin's Creed 3 DLC: The Tyranny of King Washington Part 1 gets firm release date

February is the month of alternate history madness

History! It isn't simply written by the victors, but also by videogame developers in search of a less "earnest" and "serious" way of approaching an established fiction. The first episode of Assassin's Creed 3 DLC campaign The Tyranny of King Washington will launch on 19th February, Ubisoft has announced. It's called "The Infamy", and will cost 800 MP.

"In the first episode of the Tyranny of King Washington series, our hero, Ratonhnhaké:ton, awakens from an unsettling dream to find that, despite his efforts to deliver justice in the newly-founded United States of America, a new king has been crowned - George Washington," reads the blurb. "The Infamy will take gamers through the beginning of the journey to dethrone King Washington."

There are three episodes in total. Coming up next, The Betrayal and The Redemption. Spoilers in title, Ubisoft! Get a sneak preview of the reimagined Washington in the trailer below - he certainly looks like a man on the verge of a pogrom or two.
