I was going to do some journalism today, but it seems NeoGAF user Mama Robotnik has already done all the journalism. This Friend of the People has just posted a massive, massive series of posts about Denis Dyack's troubled Silicon Knights studio, revealing a number of binned projects.
Top of the list, from my perspective, are Eternal Darkness 2, Too Human 2 - or rather, Too Human: Rise of the Giants - and a survival horror game for Sega originally known as The Box, retitled The Ritualyst after Silicon Knights dumped Sega for THQ. I've reposted a number of the included screens below, along with some early concept shots of a Crystal Dynamics game called Shifter, later to become the wonderful Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (not, it must be said, with Silicon Knights' blessing). The Eternal Darkness 2 pics are still to be confirmed.
The thread is the product of enormous research, obviously, and definitely worth reading in full. Silicon Knights recently lost a long-fought legal battle with Epic Games, to whom it now owes millions of dollars. The writing is definitely on the wall for the house that Dyack built.
