You'll need a compatible USB Flash stick or an Xbox 360 hard drive to play Halo 4's multiplayer, Microsoft has revealed. Anybody on these boards not the proud owner of an Xbox 360 hard drive? No, we didn't think so. Crisis averted.

"At a minimum, you'll need at least an 8GB USB Flash Drive or an Xbox 360 Hard Drive to play Multiplayer mode in Halo 4," notes an product page. "For an optimal experience playing with an Xbox 360 Hard Drive is highly recommended."


We imagine the Spartan Ops co-op component accounts for a hefty chunk of that - in total, the DLC missions concerned will soak up 12 "incremental" hours, with additional competitive maps also due to arrive post-release.
