Naturally we've got all the exclusive details on Call of Duty: Black Ops II in the issue of OXM on sale May 16th, having been out to Treyarch to see it with our own eyes. If you want the full lowdown, you should grab the magazine for 10 glorious pages on the subject. However, if you can't wait that long and your mates are already nagging you - as an OXM reader and therefore the most informed, witty and pleasantly-fragrant gamer they know - about what the next Call of Duty will be like, here are the basics that you can rattle off in the pub.
1. The setting
Mainly it's 2025, so a shade under 15 years in the future. Just long enough for all the wacky experimental military tech that's in development now to be fully deployed, without descending into a competition over who has the biggest lightsaber. There are also portions set during the 1980s starring Woods and Mason from the original Black Ops.
2. The hero
The story is narrated by Woods who is - surprise - alive after the events of the first game. In 2025 you'll be playing as David Mason, son of Alex and a Black Ops operative just like dad. In the 1980s, you'll be back in the boots of Mason Snr.
