Assassin's Creed 3: "the most RPG-like Assassin's Creed so far"

Video: Ubisoft talks Connor, Desmond, the new setting and more

It's just as well yesterday was April Fools, not today, or our forthcoming stampede of new Assassin's Creed 3 content would have been mired in treachery from the off. That's right - this week is Assassin's Creed 3 week. Over the coming five days, you'll be literally force-fed information about Ubisoft's latest stab 'em up. Gameplay details will be stuffed up your nose. Plot hints will erupt from every orifice. It's going to be carnage, people.

Let's get the broadside going with a few thoughts from Alex Hutchinson, creative director, on the new game's characters and setting. Set in colonial America and starring a partly Native American protagonist, Assassin's Creed 3 takes the franchise's honed acrobatic style in some fascinating new directions. There's also a bigger role for Desmond, as per our speculations the other day.

Watch out for more video interviews, articles on individual modes, features and so forth, and gameplay impressions as the week wears on. We've got a few of these lined up in advance, but we'll also be writing on the hoof in response to your needs/demands. So by all means throw us suggestions and requests in the thread below. If you're serious about the Creed, you should also pick up a copy of issue 84 - Connor is our latest cover star.
