PwC reactivates GAME Reward Card scheme

But you can only redeem points against pre-owned games

Administrators PwC have reactivated GAME's Reward Card scheme, suspended after the troubled retailer called it quits on Monday. There's a catch, however - Reward Points can be earned from all purchases, but they can only be spent on pre-owned games.

"Your Reward Cards have now been reactivated by the Administrators for redemption against pre-owned stock," GAME tweeted this afternoon. "This means that points can be earned on all products AND redeemed against pre-owned items as of now."

There is, alas, no further news as yet on the fate of preorder deposit refunds, though PwC has assured that it intends to review their suspension this week.

GAME may be on its way to becoming the first majority state-owned games retailer, thanks to a last-ditch bid by a bank consortium led by the (in theory) taxpayer-controlled Royal Bank of Scotland.

RBS is also one of the debt-riddled GAME's key lenders. As a few readers suggested in a prior thread, there could be a conflict of interest here. Just a bit.
