Xbox Live update fixes "voice recognition issues"

Microsoft sheds light on its "behind the scenes" Xbox 360 patch

You might have noticed a stealthy Xbox 360 update this week, brushed off by Xbox EMEA social marketing manager Graeme Boyd as "just behind the scenes stuff to keep Xbox Live the best experience possible."

Guess what? It's nothing all that exciting, providing you can read and articulate the phrase "it's nothing all that exciting". According to Major Nelson, the update was designed to "quickly fix some voice recognition issues affecting our non-English speaking members". Jackpot.

A fine opportunity to ask you how you're finding Kinect's voice functions. We think Mass Effect 3 puts the feature to impressive use. I've tried speaking to the game through the luxuriant folds of our latest issue, and it doesn't miss a word.
