Kinect Star Wars release date, Galactic Dance Off confirmed

Terminal Reality to get the X-Wing out in April

Microsoft has confirmed a 3rd April release for both Kinect Star Wars and - extra, extra excitingly - the Kinect Star Wars themed Xbox 360 console.

Delayed from last Christmas to achieve the game's "full potential" (hopefully getting rid of the mechanical problems we noted in our last preview), Kinect Star Wars offers five modes: Jedi Destiny: Dark Side Rising, Podracing, Rancor Rampage, heinous-sounding music fest Galactic Dance Off and survival mode Duels of Fate.

It could be the Xbox 720 in disguise. Can't rule that out.

You'll fight in space and on land, pilot Speeder Bikes and Landspeeders, and battle famous faces (plus associated body parts) like Count Dooku and Darth Vader.

The Galactic Dance Off mode is "loaded with Star Wars-themed pop tunes where those still honing their Jedi skills can take a break to battle Darth Vader on the dance floor or bust a move 'Solo style.'" Enough, we feel ill. Stop it LucasArts. We're retching into our keyboards.

Those who buy the custom console get a C3PO unlockable for Dance Mode. We've attached pics of the former. It's a handsome beast. Handsome enough for £349.99? Check out new Kinect Star Wars screenshots below.
