The first free downloadable content for Driver: San Francisco hits Xbox Live on 15th September, and you'll get another update every week for the following 10 weeks.
Ubisoft's Driver Club, a digital community platform, has also gone live, offering exclusive achievements, leaderboards, stat-tracking functionality and social feeds. You can upload and share San Francisco clips. Log cut together a 90 second breakdown of the surprisingly solid racer last week - feel free to take inspiration from it.
You'll need a "Uplay Passport" to activate the multiplayer, but second-hand buyers needn't fret, as Ubisoft has waived the original 800 MP fee after discovering that several box codes were incorrectly printed. Here are some specifics.
"When you begin DRIVER: San Francisco, you are prompted with the Uplay Passport menu. The menu has 4 options: "Purchase Uplay PASSPORT," "Activate my Uplay PASSPORT," "Start my 2-Day Free Trial," or "Remind Me Later".
"There are two ways to access these online features: 1. Select Start My 2-Day Free Trial, which will not expire, OR 2. Select Purchase Uplay Passport, which will be provided at no charge. Either option will unlock the 11 multiplayer modes and the Film Director feature on console titles with Uplay Passport."
UPDATE: Ubisoft has just announced that the DLC will remain free forever. According to a spokesperson: "Although this problem does not affect players outside of North America, we have decided to mirror this offer to everyone in the world in order to be fair to all our players." Two thumbs.
