Bungie can't get rid of final Halo 2 players

Twelve players refuse to turn their Xbox off and are still online...

For most of us, Halo 2's online multiplayer has come to an end.

For tbhe 12 holdouts who have refused to leave Halo 2's multiplayer servers, they're still playing online.

It turns out you can't rejoin the servers once you leave them, so the 12 holdouts have kept their consoles going and stayed on Halo 2's multiplayer since Microsoft flipped the switch shutting down original Xbox's servers.

"We will keep playing until we are all forcibly removed," says Joe Campbell, one of the holdouts, over on Bungie's forums. "It could be by Microsoft, Bungie, our Xbox's overheating, or just lagging out. Not for competition, not for a prize, but for the love, and memory of Halo 2."
